From Sunshine to 22 Degrees: Robyn Sztyndor Heads to Knoxville for Work
On January 21st, I’ll be packing my suitcase for a work trip to Knoxville, and let me be very clear about something: it is scheduled to be 22 degrees Fahrenheit.
As a South Florida woman, this is not exactly my natural habitat.
Winter at home usually means a light jacket (optional) and maybe closed-toe shoes if we’re feeling dramatic. So yes, this trip requires actual planning, and finding the right combo of sweaters, coats, scarves, and boots.
However, I’m genuinely excited.
There’s something about stepping outside your comfort zone, and 2026 seems determined to start that way. This year is already shaping up to be full. My full schedules, full calendars, and meaningful work that reminds me why I love what I do. Traveling for clients, even when it involves Midwest or Southern winter weather, is part of the reality of building and expanding a serious legal and consulting practice.
It’s not always courtrooms and conference rooms close to home. Sometimes it’s early flights, cold air, and navigating unfamiliar cities with purpose.
I kind of love it.
This season of growth doesn’t stop with my own work, either. At home, I’ve been cheering on my daughter as she starts her own fitness journey. She’s been playing tennis every single day this year so far, and watching her dedication has been incredibly motivating. There’s something powerful about seeing that level of commitment — especially at such a young age.
I like to think she gets a bit of that determination from her mom.
As I head into Knoxville bundled up and ready to work, I’m carrying that same mindset with me: show up, push forward, and embrace the uncomfortable moments because that’s usually where growth happens.
Here’s to starting 2026 busy, motivated, slightly cold — and exactly where I’m supposed to be. Please pray that I survive the cold and make it back to Fort Lauderdale safely.
